Stuyvesant Town Future

Will it happen? A massive undertaking by landlord Tishman Speyer to "upgrade" Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village with the addition of glass penthouses and at least three tall towers that will overwhelm the entire complex. (Two of the towers would be placed at opposite ends of "the Oval," casting gloom over that central green oasis, though, because of their north/south placement, perhaps not long shadows.)

Someone came across the above design at a "secret link" of the architectural firm, Work. Is it genuine or a hoax?

Whatever it is, Tishman Speyer is rigorously trying to unload its rent stabilized tenants through any legal means possible. As the NY Post writes (May 29, 2007):

It's gone from Stuy Town to Spy Town. The new landlord of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village is building tax dossiers on tenants in a massive effort to drive out low-paying families and jack up rents, residents charged yesterday.

My tax dossier is not that interesting, so I'm secure for now, but tenants who follow the rules and regulations have still be getting notices that their leases will not be renewed because of primary residence stipulations. So the push to get rid of stabilized tenants is on and it's aggressive.
